Hewlett Packard Enterprise's (HPE) annual Discover event focuses on how HPE and their partners thrive in the Idea Economy by delivering innovative IT solutions that accelerate change, harness data, manage risk, enable agility and empower workforce productivity. With over 10,000 industry leaders ranging from IT executives, to architects to engineers attending, the event needed an app that was as innovative as its attendees.
In addition to innovation, the Discover event app needed to enhance the attendee experience. 2015 was the first year Eventbase worked with HPE on their Discover London event with the goal of increasing attendee engagement by personalizing the interactive event app.
Following the success of the 2015 Discover events, HPE was looking for further innovation for their 2016 HPE Discover app. To do this, the team deployed 1,200 Aruba, an HPE company, proximity beacons – one of the largest beacon deployments at an event – to deliver indoor wayfinding and self-guided tours for their Las Vegas event. Leveraging Aruba's Meridian SDK, interactive maps feature and the Aruba beacons, the app allowed attendees to view their location within the event and receive turn-by-turn directions through the conference floor and expo hall.
HPE met their overall event app goal of elevating the attendee experience. Their Aruba beacon deployment and resulting wayfinding capablities made it easy for attendees to navigate the trade show floor. Eventbase was also able to improve the event app user interface and experience, making it inutitive to use and easy to search for content.
