November 13, 2015 - Last week, thousands of event organizers and marketers across the Fortune 1000 descended on Las Vegas for EVENTtech 2014, the world’s only conference and expo focused on using social media and technology to optimize events. Hosted by Event Marketer, the conference also celebrates best-of-breed solutions, campaigns, and companies as part of the Event Technology Awards.
The Cannes Lions Festival app took Gold as Best Event app and was recognized specifically for our use of iBeacons to elevate attendee networking and inspire connections for the festival’s audiences. As provider of the official Cannes Lions app, we were excited to accept the award on behalf of our client team and technology partners, Gimbal and Urban Airship. The competition was stiff, with some of the biggest brands and agencies vying for wins in one of 22 categories.
Overall, it was a successful event in no small part due to the hyper-targeted audience and content. Many sessions delved into ideas for bridging digital with live experiences, ways to activate events with social media, and demonstrated some of the unique technologies that continue to emerge in the industry.
