Attendee engagement, SXSW How SXSW GO is Taking Networking to Another Level
South By Southwest (SXSW) is known for its conference and festivals that celebrate the convergence of the interactive, film and music industries. It has become the cornerstone event for creative individuals around the world, bringing together great minds in technology and culture.
SXSW GO, the official mobile event app, helps attendees navigate various venues, discover new content and make valuable connections that help take the attendee experience to another level year after year. Eventbase has worked with SXSW on the mobile event app for the fifth year in a row, and each year the focus continues to concentrate on how to improve the event experience. In 2015, Eventbase and SXSW pushed the envelope with the deployment of more than 1,000 beacons, that worked in conjunction with the event app. The beacons enable the Around Me feature in the mobile app. As attendees walk into a SXSW venue the app prompts users to check in and see who is nearby – providing a detailed view of other attendees and a seamless way to reach out to other users. With networking being such a crucial component to the event, SXSW Go was designed to deliver an efficient experience where attendees can enter a room and quickly and efficiently identify who else is present.
