Greater Creative Control: Build Stunning Feature Tiles Directly Inside Eventbase Manager

We are thrilled to introduce the Feature Tiles Visual Designer in Eventbase Manager (EBM)!

Feature Tiles give you the power to transform standard event app navigation into visually rich, high-impact navigators. Designed to elevate the attendee experience, they make it easy to showcase important content, highlight key event features and seamlessly link attendees directly to schedules, sponsors and activities – all through sleek, customizable visual tiles.

5 mockups showing the feature tiles in live apps

Historically, setting up Eventbase Feature Tiles required high dependency on design teams to export, format and upload finalized graphic assets for every single tile. With this update, event administrators can build, style and structure Feature Tiles directly inside Eventbase Manager (EBM), dramatically shortening lead times and giving you more creative control.

Whether you’re building an event app layout from scratch or updating on the fly, this visual workflow lets you design with speed, flexibility and absolute confidence.

What’s New in the Visual Designer?

1. Flexible Creation Workflows

Choose the pathway that best fits your team's needs. You can select the new Visual Designer workflow or seamlessly stick with the existing manual upload workflow if you prefer working with pre-designed assets.

2. Layout Templates & Continuous Backgrounds

  • Layout Templates & Manual Row Creation: Jump-start your design using ready-to-go layout templates or build customized row layouts manually.

  • Complete Row Reordering: Drag and drop or use arrows directly inside the live preview to reorder entire rows across your layout on the fly. Best of all, the tool automatically maintains your original design and background alignment even as you rearrange rows, making layout experimentation completely risk-free.

  • Single Background Image: Say goodbye to slicing up individual graphic files! Upload a single, continuous background image that spans seamlessly across your entire layout for a cohesive visual aesthetic.

  • Dynamic Background Size Guidance: The new tool automatically calculates and recommends background image height specs based on your layout structure and adjusts requirements as you add or remove rows.

3. Label Styling Controls & Accessibility Guidance

  • In-App Custom Styling: Customize text, font, size, weight, color, alignment, overlay and drop shadows for your labels. You can even customize individual tiles within the layout to tweak text or fix legibility issues on specific tiles.

  • Contrast Guidance & Previews: EBM provides real-time accessibility contrast feedback to help you spot text legibility issues early. (Note: Contrast feedback is integrated guidance; your team should still conduct their standard accessibility review).

4. iOS & Android Live Previews

Eliminate the guesswork before going live. The Visual Designer includes built-in mobile device rendering previews for both iOS and Android. As you tweak text alignments, adjust drop shadows or set continuous background images, you can instantly toggle between iOS and Android views directly within Eventbase Manager. This lets you check legibility, catch edge cases and preview how your layout appears across both iOS and Android before publishing.

5. "Apply to Page" vs. "Final Save"

  • Apply to Page: Review your layout in full context on the page without finalizing it. You can jump back into the Visual Designer to adjust styling as many times as you like.

  • Final Save: When you’re ready, hitting Final Save automatically flattens label text into ready-to-use image assets.

Pro-Tips from the Product Team

To make sure your launch goes smoothly, keep these key best practices in mind:

  • Download Assets Before Finalizing: Because Final Save flattens label text into the image assets, the active Visual Designer layout clears and cannot be reopened for editing after saving. Always download your generated assets before the final save if you think you’ll need text-free backups later.

  • Avoid Double Text: Adding new label text to an already flattened tile image after saving can create duplicate visible text. Always start fresh or revert to backup assets if structural text changes are needed post-save.

  • Deep Links: Configure destination deep links per tile before finalizing your design to ensure smooth navigation throughout your app.

Client Brand Fonts

Need to use a custom brand font? Custom font uploads aren't self-serve in EBM, but we've got you covered!

  1. Reach out to your Eventbase representative with your font files and proof of licensing (Client Font Permission Request).

  2. Once verified, our team will add your licensed font to the shared Feature Tile library for your event setup.
