UK Meeting Planners Meet the Future of Event Technology

June 2, 2014 - Taking inspiration from the concept of the “unconference,” Central Hall Westminster (central London’s largest conference venue) will be hosting Meet The Future on June 3rd, spotlighting emerging event technologies and relevant trends, challenges, and best practices. Aimed at meeting planners and event organizers, this half day of interactive and forward-thinking sessions will provide event organizers a first hand experience of the latest trends in event technology.

Having already revolutionized events with iBeacon implementation in our previous apps (SXSW GO in Austin, and Tribeca Film Fest in New York), Eventbase will introduce iBeacon to UK events within the Meet the Future app. In addition to triggered audience participation and location-based messages, the event’s official app boasts tight LinkedIn integration that leverages iBeacon to enable streamlined attendee-to-attendee networking. In a first for this particular functionality (what we like to call Radar), devices themselves will essentially become beacons that allow device-to-device connections and let opted-in users view other attendees in the vicinity.

If you’re in London for what’s shaping up to be an insightful event, stop by our session on iBeacons, Event Apps & Social Networking. Audiences can expect to hear real-world iBeacon experiences from our team. What worked, what didn’t, and why.

Other sessions worth checking out include a keynote from British futurologist Mark Stevenson and Google Glass demos via sli.do, the first Google Glass app for event moderators.
