We’re excited to announce that we’ve received new funding to further accelerate growth and support the launch of our new enterprise event data product, Data Stream. Madrona Venture Group, which led our previous round of funding, participated along with a new investor, Kensington Capital Partners via the BC Tech Fund. We also recently received additional financing from Silicon Valley Bank and Espresso Capital. This financing builds on previous investments, including initial funding from SXSW Tech LLC, for a total of USD$14.5 million.

This new round of funding has helped us launch the first ever enterprise-grade event data product, Data Stream, which allows event organizers to capture in-depth attendee app engagement data, and visualize it within the business intelligence tools they’re already using.

"Eventbase has taken tremendous strides toward becoming the dominant provider of mobile event technology for enterprise, and we look forward to seeing further growth with this new round of investment," says Paul Goodrich, Managing Director at Madrona Venture Group.

"Eventbase's software is an integral part of their clients' sales and marketing stack," says Dr. Gerri Sinclair, Managing Director at Kensington Capital. "By participating in this round of financing, the BC Tech Fund provides Eventbase with a local partner to build a world-class company in British Columbia."

“The Province of British Columbia established the $100-million BC Tech Fund to help innovative local companies like Eventbase stay in our province, and grow and create jobs that contribute to our economy,” said B.C. Minister of Jobs, Trade and Technology Bruce Ralston. “I look forward to watching Eventbase’s continued success here in B.C. and around the world, with this latest round of financing and its new Data Stream product.”

Surfacing insights across the attendee journey

Experience the deepest level of insight into your attendee journey and event app ROI. With Data Stream, app interaction data points are collected across all events within your Eventbase Enterprise Event App. Whether you’re seeking insight into your large conferences and events, or looking to further personalize attendee journeys for small regional roadshows, event organizers can capture interactions such as:

App installs and logins

App open and close rates

Number of times a session, speaker, exhibitor of venue is favorited and un-favorited

Time a user spends in the app

User roles and badge types

Other actions within your event app

“We’ve built the industry’s most advanced data platform to help our enterprise customers better understand and shape the journey of their attendees,” says Jeff Sinclair, Co-founder & CEO. “Data Stream will let enterprises take personalization to another level and drive the next generation of intelligent mobile experiences at events.”

With a unique understanding of the safety and security requirements of the modern enterprise, Eventbase Data Stream is optimized to fit the needs of both your enterprise’s CMO and CIO.

Your data, your way

Data Stream automatically sends event data to your secure and scalable dedicated data warehouse. From there, Data Stream syncs your event app data into the business intelligence and martech tools your enterprise already knows and trusts. Ranging from visualization tools to CRM and marketing automation, Data Stream makes it easy to action app usage data, or combine it with other sources to gain a holistic view of the impact of events on buying journeys.

Shaping live event experiences

Event attendees have come to expect live event experiences that are tailored to their specific interests. Data Stream makes it easier than ever for event organizers to personalize the attendee journey, combining layers of intelligence from multiple sources. Using Eventbase Intelligent Features such as AI-powered recommendations and chatbots can further utilize the insights uncovered from Data Stream to personalize experiences.

Empowering event organizers at SXSW 2018

Eventbase Data Stream was piloted in March 2018 at the massive South by Southwest® (SXSW®) festival and conference in Austin, Texas. During the ten day event, Data Stream captured over 250 million pieces of app usage data within the SXSW GO mobile app, measuring up to 14 app opens per second. SXSW® organizers were able to then visualize their app usage data within their business intelligence tools, such as charts of sessions favorited by badge type and app logins per hour, and reveal key differences in behavior between logged in and anonymous users.
